Garmin releases new updates for Fenix 6 and Instinct 2
Garmin has released new Beta updates for its Instinct 2, Instinct Crossover, Fenix 6 and MARQ smartwatches. For the Instinct wearable, the company has shared software Beta Version 12.11. The update resolves several issues, including a problem with detecting your Cycling Functional Threshold Power (FTP); this metric shows the maximum power output you can sustain for an hour based on your performance.
Another problem Garmin has resolved occurred when pressing a hotkey, which could cause you to exit the Incident Detection or Assistance Countdown pages. Other bug fixes include ensuring workout names are correctly truncated and enabling you to access the End Sleep prompt via the Training Status glance. The new software v12.11 is being pushed to the Garmin Instinct smartwatches via Garmin Connect Manager, with wearables automatically checking for the update daily. The company notes that the update may take several hours to install.
Beta Version 25.79 is for the Garmin Fenix 6 and MARQ smartwatches. The minor update contains a bug fix that resolves an issue when rating a Connect IQ app, causing the wearable to shut down. This Beta update will not be delivered automatically to eligible smartwatches; you must manually load the software. Customers who wish to join the Garmin Beta Program can sign up via Garmin Connect.
